| Vimeo is a bit slow to load for me sometimes but what do you expect with such HD video? The videos are excellent and John is doing a great job. As are all those involved in the production side of things.

Anyone else think that he comes across as a bit of a gobshite? |
Big time and he appears to me as if he is getting 'thick' with the interviewer....

I have to say i just watched that video, its a bit rich for collie to be saying players will have a short shelbourne career when, if you think about it the management obviously thought they were good enough before the game otherwise they wouldnt be in the team.
then saying it's nothing to do with tactics when our center backs and full backs are left isolated not covering each other because of the formation and then the tactic of long ball from back to front bypassses midfield and makes it very hard for them to support the front men.
thats what contributs to bad play and allowing opposition to compete.
There are some good player in that team who can play football, if the management work with them and have better shape and cover and look to play more instead of lumping it then i think things would be different. because they didn' lack effort.
also thought the interviewer did the best he could in the situation, surprised he didnt laugh his head off with the faces being pulled haha!

Collie doesnt do himself any justice in this interview. If he thinks that it acceptable to put all the blame on the players then he is wrong, naive and lacking in professionalism because Dermot has to take a lot of the blame because he signed the players who will have a "short" Shels career and I would think that Collie also had a part to play in signing them.
Thanks to Jaf for the work, much appreciated.

Yes I agree the buck stops with the manager as he picks the team but also the player must show some passion and goals
Yes both Keeley and him would have signed the players, they obviously showed more class when on trial than they did on Friday.
Just not good enough.

The last two posts above hit the nail on the head about O'Neill's comments
It as a damning indictment of the Keely/O'Neill regime that after the first league game of the season that they realise they have signed another lot of pub league players on a healthy budget. Over the past four seasons under Keely/O'Neill we have had a turnover of players like a flippin call centre, ok 2007 was somewhat understandable, but since then over half our squad depart at the end of every season because they aren't good enough or don't suit our 1-D football. You would think that would inspire our managment to actually do some research into who they are signing instead of phoning up John Gill for him to recommend some footballing god like Derek Doyle.

Oh and I rudely forgot to say a big thank you to John and all the crew for another magnificent high quality highlights package.
If it was wasn't for the highlights, I would still think that ref was a cheating runt but the highlights show the ref the 3 big decisions spot on. Right on the red card/last man, right on the yellow for the keeper and right on booking Gorman for his dive.

| When I heard that there was some criticism of our work on the highlights and interviews I held back commenting on this, however having read the offending post I now realise that the comments meant no offence. I did however offer my resignation immediately to JAF, unfortunately he declined the offer as he has no other driver willing to take him and the rest of the production team all over the country. Yes we do it all for nothing but see ourselves as providing a service to you all on the web and to the manager who use the dvds for training purposes. I will be more than happy to give up my position as interviewer if someone is willing to commit the time.

In fairness Mark, the problem wasn't with you, it was with Collie and his lack of answers to the questions you asked. It put you in an akward postition and stifled the interview.
